General Considerations
Computer imaging technology must be both adopted by and adapted to the cultural heritage community. Adoption requires proof that these techniques will increase the community's access to existing documentation, and, in the future, facilitate the creation of a more complete and accurate record of our collective past. The adoption of computer graphics methods by cultural heritage workers requires that they incorporate digital techniques into their normal work flow. This involves both the documentation of cultural material and its subsequent presentation. Technology adaptation is necessary to enhance the evidential reliability, efficiency, ease of use, robustness, and cost effectiveness of digital imaging techniques.
